Notes on stocking conditions
Machines have been stocked for 37 years, in a closed barn. (and may be 5 years more in the original factory).
A first look indicates that many parts have been protected (!) by small pieces of straw.
It is very easy to clean with a small brush and put it in water.
(or in a washing machine with very little powder)
This very dry conditioning seems to have protected circuitry.
Rust is very limited.
I was very surprised to see that the 505 only need to put off the lace (maintaining the two wings/parts)
A very small force (one pound) was necessary to open the machine.
Pcb can be extracted easily. (those i have tried!)
Power blocks are dirty. I had no electricity in the barn (and so no vacuum cleaner)
They seems to have collected all the dust!
Attempt of cleaning cards
Cleaning is very easy:
- Put out the dust with a brush
- wash pcb under water with a little quantity of soap (non agressive)
- or wash it in a washing machine (non agressive)
Look at the result
